About Jane

I am a BACP Accredited Therapist, EMDR Therapist and Clinical Supervisor to therapists with extensive experience working therapeutically with adults.

A compassionate trauma-informed approach

I believe that therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood, rather than judged, rushed or treated as a diagnosis.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative and trauma-informed. I pay attention not only to what you’re thinking and feeling, but also to how experiences may continue to show up in your body, relationships and everyday life.

I understand that talking about difficult experiences can feel daunting. You don’t have to arrive with everything worked out, and you don’t have to tell your story perfectly.

My role is to create a space where we can make sense of what you’ve experienced together, at a pace that feels safe for you.

My approach to EMDR

Experience

I don’t believe trauma therapy should be about pushing through or reliving experiences before you’re ready.

For me, effective trauma therapy begins with safety, trust and collaboration.

Sometimes the most important work initially is helping you feel more grounded, understand your responses and develop a sense of control.

From there, we can consider whether EMDR processing is right for you at this time in your life.

I bring 13+ years of NHS therapeutic experience including a Counselling & Wellbeing Service Lead role for 600+ healthcare staff through the pandemic and beyond.

I've been fortunate enough to previously work as a counsellor and supervisor for low cost women's charities as well as providing long and short term therapy in several agencies supporting men and women with a range of complex emotional and psychological difficulties.

Thriving counselling, EMDR and supervisory practice, face to face in Surbiton and Online to all of the UK.
